Recently the parish council have had several complaints of dog fouling within the village. As part of the action plan this week two of our parish councillors met with met with Councillors Andy Wake, Bryn Griffiths and David Granger (Dog Warden).
We outlined the problem and agreed the following:
1. Dave Granger will stencil warnings on the following roads and paths,
The Holme, The High Street pavements, Town Green foot path, Backers Walk, Water splash footpath.
2. Andy Wake volunteered to post self adhesive warning notices on lampposts throughout the village.
3 Dave Granger does not have suitable warning signs for the beck side walk and therefore we will need to have some made “Children’s area – pick up after your dog” or words to that effect.
The alternative is to ban dogs from this area.
Please can all dog owners take all precautions to avoid fouling. Recently one resident counted several dozen instances on one stretch of The Holme.
