There are currently two planning appeals being considered by the Planning Inspectorate against Hambleton’s decision to refuse the respective planning applications. They are:
Wesley House, 40 High Street. The planning proposal seeks to convert the School Room annex of the old Methodist Chapel in to a separate dwelling. The original planning application to convert the Chapel in to a dwelling was approved in 2016 and contained the provision to demolish the school room and create a green space with parking for two cars. The new application ignores that provision and seeks to retain the school room and convert it into a separate dwelling. The PC supported Hambleton’s refusal and have reiterated their objection to the Planning Inspectorate.
Hambleton’s Planning website reports that the appeal has failed. The Planning Inspectorate have upheld Hambleton’s decision to refuse the application.
Back Lane. A proposal to build five dwellings on the east side of Back Lane was refused by Hambleton in 2018. The PC also supported Hambleton’s decision and have reiterated their objections to the Planning Inspectorate
